Customized Universal Motor Parts Set

This OEM, a well known manufacturer of construction tools, needed a motor for their concrete vibrator, used to help solidify concrete when placed in foundation wall forms.

The Challenge

• The motor must withstand constant high torque and extreme vibration
• Heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions are routine
• Rough handling in the field is the norm

The Solution

• A universal motor (60 frame and 75 frame parts sets) was selected to install in the customer’s housing
• Steel core commutator used to prevent motor failure due to high amp draw
• A special knurled shaft was incorporated in the design
• A one meter drop test was used to prove the design
